Linda Murrow, M.A.
MCEFT Co-ordinator
Certified EFT Therapist and Supervisor

Phone: 0421 999 839
Practice address: 20 Burns Street, Elwood, VIC 3184, Australia

Linda is an experienced couple & family therapist, psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, educator and trainer. Originally from New York & Boston Linda has lived and worked in Melbourne for more than 25 years, and has been instrumental in establishing the Melbourne EFT Community and supporting EFT training in Victoria. She has received the honour of becoming the first Certified EFT Therapist & Supervisor in Victoria.

Linda is committed to being a part of the leading edge of EFT, ensuring practitioners have access to a diverse range of EFT role models and approaches. She works collaboratively to grow a vibrant, inclusive EFT community that promotes effective practice and celebrates the unique contribution of each member. She views the EFT model as transformational for clients and therapists alike, and values the importance of life long learning and growth through practice.

Linda’s background in counselling & psychotherapy, spanning 30 years, includes specialist training in family therapy, couple therapy and dance/movement therapy. Grounded in the fundamentals of a humanistic, person-centred approach, she works experientially weaving together the threads of systemic thinking, psychodynamic understanding and attachment theory with an ability to engage the non-verbal experience that is such an essential part of ‘the dance’ of close relationships.

Linda’s in-depth, integrative approach helps couples access new relationship experiences that can transform emotional bonds, heal wounds and facilitate secure connection. She works with a wide variety of clinical presentations and has an established reputation. Linda also enjoys nurturing therapists in their development towards providing excellent services in the community. She is a strong advocate for quality training, competent therapists and effective therapy as powerful change agents.

For many years Linda has worked in agency settings, most recently Relationships Australia (2004-2014) as a clinician, supervisor, trainer and head of couple therapy training. She has helped to develop a number of university programs in the field of counselling and psychotherapy, including the Master of Social Science (Couple Counselling) at Swinburne University where she currently teaches EFT. She has provided training & professional development for various organisations such as LifeWorks, Reconnexion, and St. Vincent’s Hospital.

In addition to her clinical work and teaching, Linda regularly runs workshops and retreats for couples based on Dr. Susan Johnson’s internationally acclaimed program, Hold Me Tight: Conversations for Connection.

Linda is a member of the Australian Assoc. of Relationship Counsellors (Clinical), Australian Assoc. of Family Therapists (Clinical), International Centre for Excellence in Emotion Focused Therapy (Certified EFT Therapist & Supervisor), Society of Counselling & Psychotherapy Educators, Dance-Movement Therapy Assoc. of Australasia (Professional), Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia (Reg. 20758), and has a Cert IV in Training & Assessment.
